Implementation Guideline for GEDSI mainstreaming Acceleration in East Java

Efforts to mainstream GEDSI are carried out by, among others, raising it explicitly in the budgeting of disaster management programs, which is currently carried out together by several Local Government Agencies (OPDs). However, the integration has yet to be maximised, especially in terms of budgeting. GEDSI mainstreaming is expected to be one of the cross-cutting concerns connecting disaster management planning and budgeting across various OPDs.

BNPB Declares Commitment to Gender Mainstreamingin Disaster Management

After the signing of the commitment document, BNPB Planning Bureau Head Andi Eviana said that with the commitment to gender mainstreaming, future disaster management efforts, both implemented by BPNB and the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), are expected to pay more attention to gender aspects. This is very important considering the specific vulnerabilities of women and children in disasters, including vulnerability to gender-based violence.

DRR Month as a Reminder of the Importance of DRR Integration in Key Sectors

The main event of this year’s DRR Month was opened by the Head of BNPB, Letjen TNI Suharyanto, on 13 October and was attended by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Muhajir Effendy, Official for the Governor of Southeast Sulawesi, Andap Budhi Revianto, and governors, district heads and mayors , provincial and district Subnational Disaster Management Agencies (BPBDs), non-governmental organisations, universities, and disaster management volunteers.

Jatim Newsroom – SIAP SIAGA bekerja sama dengan Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) Provinsi Jawa Timur dan Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan, Perlindungan Anak, dan Kependudukan Provinsi Jawa Timur telah menginisiasi penyusunan sampai pada penetapan dan pemanfaatan Pedoman Pengarusutamaan Gender, Disabilitas, dan Inklusi Sosial (GEDSI) dalam bentuk Buku Pegangan Pengarusutamaan GEDSI dalam Penanggulangan Bencana di Jawa Timur.

The Roadmap for Gender Mainstreaming in BNPB is designed with regard to gender-based development priorities and an integral part of the implementation of the gender mainstreaming program, as it will be used as a directive guideline for all elements of BNPB organization.
