Yayasan SOPAN Sumba

Solidaritas Perempuan dan Anak (SOPAN) Sumba is a volunteer-based organisation focused on issues concerning women, children, disabilities, and other minority groups. Since 2006, SOPAN has run programs to prevent gender-based and cultural violence in Sumba, utilising media campaigns, research, cultural arts, documentation, and dissemination of information. With a robust volunteer network across and beyond Sumba, SOPAN actively distributes knowledge and builds networks to educate villages. During 2020-2021, they supported communities in protecting themselves from COVID-19 through local language education, sanitiser production training, and distributing essential goods. In 2021, SOPAN assisted Seroja Cyclone disaster victims by recording damage data and providing aid and housing support..
