Partnership period: 2024
CIS Timor initially worked to handle the social conflict of East Timorese refugees in West Timor, which focused on finding a viable, sustainable solution for humanitarian protection. CIS Timor collaborates with ECHO, the European Union, other international institutions, and the UN to push for humanitarian solutions in this conflict-prone area. In 2011, after the conflict, CIS Timor prepared five steps to change the institution’s Vision and Mission, namely the mission to Build Disaster Resilience. The disasters in question are not only conflict disasters but also natural disasters due to the impact of climate change. By adjusting the Vision and Mission of this institution, CIS Timor is increasingly focused on working at the community level and on policy advocacy related to disaster risk reduction and climate change.
The SIAP SIAGA Program is the Australia-Indonesia Partnership on Disaster Risk Management which aims to strengthen disaster resilience in Indonesia and the Indo-Pacific Region
