Mitra Samya

Perkumpulan Mitra Samya (Institute for Participation, Economic, and Democracy Studies) is a non-profit organisation that focuses on participatory research in the fields of social, economic, and democratisation, strengthening human resource capacity, developing natural resource development and management (PSDA) methodology, and developing communication media and development information.

The Mitra Samya Association was founded in 2001 by a group of researchers, academics and community empowerment practitioners from various backgrounds in Indonesia. They want to answer the challenge of how to ensure that the results of participatory research that has been carried out can be of benefit to society and that the programs implemented by the parties pay more attention to taking sides with poor groups, women and other marginalised groups in order to create a just and sustainable social order in society.
