Behaviour Change Communicatons for Disaster Risk Reduction: Toolkit (Version 1.0)

Under the partnership, MDMC and LPBI NU tested new approaches to promote basic awareness and behavioural change in selected schools and communities. On completion of these activities, SIAP SIAGA, conducted a participatory review to facilitate reflection on the approach and the results and effectiveness of the activities implemented and to identify learning and recommendations.

Traveling Down the Traces of Disaster in East Java

The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) initiated the documentation of the history of the earthquake and tsunami through the JawaDwipa Expedition with support from SIAP SIAGA. This expedition also documented and assessed the resilience of villages in facing the tsunami disaster which was carried out from June to August 2019. This popular book provides important notes including the importance of increasing literacy as a form of building preparedness strategies in the community.
