NTB Governor’s Expert Staff for Social and Community Affairs, Izzuddin Mahili, highlighted the critical role of real-time information in decision-making. He noted that the openness of disaster management information through the SIAGA NTB application reflects transparency and inclusivity in NTB Province. “This application is not only beneficial for the people of NTB but also for anyone active in the region. Hopefully, it will improve access to disaster information in our area,” he said.
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province officially launched the Android-based SIAGA NTB application on 11 December 2024 in Mataram City. This initiative, realised with the support of the SIAP SIAGA Program and the NTB Communication, Informatics, and Statistics (Kominfotik) Service, aims to provide comprehensive and easily accessible disaster information. The application is expected to facilitate efforts to reduce disaster risks while fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
The launch event was attended by notable figures, including NTB Provincial Regional Secretary (Sekda) Lalu Gita Ariadi, Head of NTB Provincial BPBD Ahmadi, Expert Staff of the Governor for Social and Community Affairs Izzuddin Mahili, and representatives from the NTB Provincial BPBD Pusdalops, government agencies, the Disaster Risk Reduction Forum (FPRB), and non-governmental organisations. In addition to the signing of the Inauguration Minutes, a discussion session was held to review the SIAGA NTB application. Speakers included Yasrul from the NTB Communication and Information Service, who detailed the application’s features, and Ilham Ardiansyah from the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Division of NTB Provincial BPBD, who discussed post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction management.
The SIAGA application is the second version of the NTB Disaster Information System, following the earlier website-based version. The guidelines for this system were developed in 2022, with the website launched on 17 October 2023. The mobile version was subsequently created in 2024 to enhance accessibility and functionality.
Collaboration results
The development process involved various Subnational Apparatus Organisations (OPD), ensuring that the data and information services offered by the system are comprehensive. Key features of the system include disaster event updates, earthquake information, details on Disaster Resilient Villages (Destana), NTB Disaster Risk Assessment (KRB) maps, educational content, complaint services with emergency contact numbers, disaster-related documents, emergency response information, and other critical disaster-related data.
Both the website and mobile application versions offer similar data and geospatial visualisations. However, the mobile version includes enhanced Destana features and additional post-disaster functionalities. These post-disaster features encompass services in areas such as physical rehabilitation and reconstruction, health and trauma healing for affected communities, psychosocial support, community guidance, and economic and environmental recovery activities. “Our disaster information is 100 per cent ready. This SIAGA application is worthy of being published,” said Ahmadi during his speech.
The application also integrates disaster data with national systems. For instance, the Destana Dashboard has been synchronised with the National Disaster Management Agency’s (BNPB) Preparedness Catalogue, aligning resilience index values and Destana statuses. Additionally, the SIAGA application is integrated with the NTB Provincial Command Centre and the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
Anggraeni Puspitasari, Area Coordinator of the SIAP SIAGA NTB Program, emphasised that integrating information technology with disaster services enhances efficiency and ensures sustainable service excellence. “The development of this application responds to advancements in information technology, enabling the public to access complete disaster information more easily,” she said.
The SIAGA NTB website can be accessed at https://siaga.ntbprov.go.id/, and the application is available for download on the Play Store for Android devices.
