Partnership period: 2022
Swara Parangpuan, established on June 8, 1998, in Manado, focuses on raising critical awareness among North Sulawesi women about their rights. This group is active in education and advocacy for women and vulnerable groups. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they developed protocols for handling cases involving women, which were tested and intended for replication. They also supported women’s groups in accessing government aid and improving their economies. In September 2021, they co-hosted the 14th National Community-Based Disaster Risk Management Conference, resulting in recommendations for innovative disaster risk management programs. Their work extends to East Nusa Tenggara, focusing on four districts: Sikka, Kupang, Timor Tengah Selatan, and Timor Tengah Utara.
The SIAP SIAGA Program is the Australia-Indonesia Partnership on Disaster Risk Management which aims to strengthen disaster resilience in Indonesia and the Indo-Pacific Region
