The evolution of sustainable resilience in Indonesia reflects a paradigm shift from a reactive to a proactive approach in dealing with disasters. The establishment of a more systematic legal and policy framework, through key events and actions such as the passage of the Disaster Management Law in 2007 and the establishment of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), marks Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening disaster risk governance.
This Study Report was made possible by the participation of some 500 stakeholders from across the Indo-Pacific region and beyond. They engaged in a series of 4 monthly seminars between May and August 2024, which culminated in the convening of the “2nd Global Forum for Sustainable Resilience” in September 2024. Pemerintah Provinsi Bali berkomitmen mengintegrasikan Rencana Penanggulangan Bencana (RPB) ke dalam RPJMD 2025–2029 sebagai wujud tindak lanjut kebijakan nasional terkait adaptasi perubahan iklim dan pengurangan risiko bencana. Melalui lokakarya yang difasilitasi BNPB bersama mitra pembangunan, Bali menegaskan pentingnya sinergi multipihak dan penguatan koneksi antara desa, pemerintah daerah, dan pusat untuk mewujudkan daerah yang lebih tangguh terhadap bencana dan perubahan iklim.
